Our next BAC seminar takes place on Wednesday 17th October 2007.
Our presenters will be Sean Moran, Partner and Head of Corporate Recovery and Insolvency, and Roy Botterill. The seminar will focus on two topical areas:
Sean will be giving an update on recent developments in insolvency law, including a look at the new rules on the use of prohibited names when acquiring companies from insolvency practitioners.
Roy Botterill, Partner and Head of Corporate Finance and Transactions, will be talking about those changes to the Companies Act which will have been implemented on 1st October 2007. These include:
• significant changes to the duties directors owe to their company and to third parties;
• changes to the rules allowing shareholders to bring actions against a company; and
• new rules about how shareholder meetings are called and held.
These are all significant changes to the regime to which lawyers, bankers, accountants and clients have become accustomed over the years.
The seminar will be held at The Rose Rooms, Belmont House Hotel, De Montfort Street, Leicester. It will start at 7.45am with registration and breakfast, formal presentations at 8.15am and close with a Q&A session by 9.30am.
There is no charge for attending, but we are expecting a high response and places are limited. Please therefore book early to avoid any disappointment.
