Harvey Ingram and Oval Risk Services are presenting a joint seminar about the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act which comes into effect in April 2008. It will held on the 15th November 2007 at the Walkers Stadium, Filbert Way, Leicester at 4pm - 6pm.

Whilst organisations do not intend to cause death, gross negligence, such as failing to put into place a system to ensure the safety of people to whom they owe a duty of care, may lead to death. The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act comes into effect in April 2008, creating a new criminal offence. It goes further than any previous health and safety law in identifying a direct link between how a business is managed and the health and safety of the people for whom the business is responsible.

It is imperative that senior managers prepare now by devising, instituting and maintaining an adequate and effective policy into overall corporate strategy, to ensure that people are protected from risks that may cause injury or death.

Harvey Ingram LLP and Oval Risk Services will be giving a joint seminar helping to understand the terms of Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act. Debra Mansfield from Harvey Ingram seminar will highlight elements of the law in respect of individual liability for gross negligent manslaughter and Neil Hodgson of Oval Risk Services will show how to reduce the risk to you and your business. Callum Taylor of Hiscox Insurance and barrister, Richard Thatcher to join the panel of speakers for the Q&A session.
