Environmental Actions
The Firm has implemented the following actions:
- Recycling printer and photocopier toner cartridges
- Using environmentally friendly printer paper
- Offering unwanted office furniture to staff or local charities
- Recycling confidential waste
- Removal of plastic cups from vending machines
- Recycling all cardboard, non confidential white paper, batteries, magazines, newspapers, periodicals etc
- Assessing the environmental policies of suppliers, e.g. furniture suppliers and where appropriate purchase second hand furniture
- Using environmentally friendly cleaning materials
- Encouraging staff to turn off lights in unoccupied rooms and toilets and putting reminder notices next to switches
- Encouraging staff to turn off photocopies, computer monitors, faxes and printers at night
- Recycling glass bottles
- Recycling plastic items
- Using other environmentally friendly stationery
Future Planned Actions:
- Using more energy efficient lighting/timers on lights
- Carrying out a full energy audit to look at ways of reducing consumption of gas/electricity/water
- Utilise an environmental management system to manage environmental performance and work towards accreditation ISO 14001
