The next Business Advisors Club breakfast seminar takes place on Wednesday 29 September 2010
Kimbra Welch will give a presentation on the Equality Act and John Stobart on the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.
Kimbra will give an overview of the main changes which are to be brought into force in October 2010 as a result of The Equality Act 2010. This will include the new claims of indirect discrimination in the areas of disability and gender reassignment together with the possible introduction of multiple discrimination provisions.
John will talk about the UK's new mandatory emissions trading scheme, the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme ("CRC"), which is rapidly progressing towards its first milestone: the 30 September 2010 registration deadline. This is an ambitious piece of climate change legislation that seeks to force non-energy intensive businesses and organisations in both the private and public sectors to consider their energy efficiency.
The CRC does this through a range of financial and reputational drivers as well as more traditional criminal and civil penalties.
Are your clients ready? Do they understand the financial implications of the CRC and have they budgeted for the additional costs that will be incurred?
This seminar will start with registration and breakfast at 7.45am and we shall aim to conclude with a question and answer session by 9.30am.
