Our next BAC seminar takes place on Thursday 8th May 2008.

The topics for this seminar will be Corporate Manslaughter, Migrant Workers and Business Survival.

What risks do employers face under the new Corporate Manslaughter Act. Do they know that they could be criminally liable for the actions of employees? Manufacturers, the service sector, retailers, care homes – many types of client businesses could be affected by the new law. Kimbra Welch, Associate in our Employment Law team will talk about some of the employment implications of the Corporate Manslaughter Act.

Does your client want to pay a fine for up to £10,000 per person for employing illegal workers? With increasing numbers of migrant workers, it is essential that employers check that all new employees have a right to work. John Palmer, Personnel Consultant in our Employment Law team will give more advice on how you can help your clients protect themselves.

Finally, we are (allegedly) on the brink of an economic downturn. What are clients doing to protect and preserve their businesses? What are the current trends for business and asset protection? Roy Botterill, Partner and head of our Corporate Finance & Transactions team will look at some current trends as to how business can survive in the current climate.

This seminar will be held at the Rose Rooms, Belmont House Hotel, De Montfort Street, Leicester. It will start with registration and breakfast at 7.45am and we shall aim to conclude with a question and answer session by 9.30am.

There is no charge for attending, but we are expecting a high response and places are limited. Please therefore book early to avoid any disappointment.
