Dispute Resolution

Disputes frequently arise in the administration of pension schemes. Unless you are up to date with current developments it can be hard to spot the potential for disputes.

We have the expertise to identify and deal with disputes early on so as to minimise cost and disruption for our clients. We aim to help our clients to avoid potential problems by regular, free, e-mail briefings, updates and seminars covering the latest developments in pensions law.

When the need arises, we can work quickly and seamlessly with our colleagues in the Dispute Resolution team and the Employment Law team to provide practical and straightforward advice to our clients across a broad spectrum of areas including:

  • internal dispute resolution procedures;
  • 'part-timer' and gender equality issues;
  • Pensions Ombudsman and Financial Ombudsman Service investigations;
  • appeals to the High Court from determinations of the Pensions Ombudsman;
  • High Court actions (e.g. professional negligence claims); and
  • Specialist pensions litigation (e.g. rectification applications, breach of trust proceedings, construction proceedings, Beddoes applications).
