Development
Our development lawyers specialise in the sale and development of sites on behalf of both landowners and developers. Such transactions often involve complex conditional contracts and overage arrangements, in order to secure an appropriate level of development and share in future value.
In addition, we act for developers in the subsequent stages of their developments including dealing with the legal aspects of the provision of infrastructure and common areas, and the subsequent sale of completed units, whether by means of freehold sales or long and rack rent leases.
We also act regularly for first-time occupiers of new premises, where a review of the construction documentation and the procurement of warranties can be particularly important.
Our clients range from individuals to substantial private and public trusts and companies, including local, regional and national property developers. A significant number of our clients are from the publicly funded or not-for-profit sectors. These include regeneration agencies, educational establishments and public authorities.
