Just a snapshot of some of our work:

  • Internationally-renowned university - Advised its estates department on leasing issues, acquisition and development of key sites, plus advising and acting on disposals.
  • We are on the interview panel for legal positions and on the scholarships board at a national university.
  • Acting for a group of Higher Education Colleges which were being challenged over grants received from the Learning & Skills Council. A multi-million pound claim was tabled but successfully defeated.
  • Acting for a regional Higher Education College in Leicester - Advised on property and employment matters, including leases, redevelopment, refurbishment and new-build projects.
  • Advised a College in North West Leicestershire on property matters, employment issues and dispute resolution.
  • Worked with a College in Melton, providing property and employment advice.
  • Acted on the sale of a non-profit making training company from one Higher Education organisation to another.
  • Advised on constitutional and governance issues - from trusts to corporate bodies established by Royal Charters.
  • The firm has a thorough understanding and is able to advise on implications of Freedom of Information Act thanks to a working knowledge of the legislation.
  • One of our senior lawyers spent nearly three years working in-house for an internationally-renowned UK university. He has first-hand experience in everything from specialist education law, to student issues, commercial law, property issues, warranties, health and safety issues, governance, leases and incubation licenses.
  • Also drafted student terms and conditions, outsourcing of services, contracts with outside providers of educational services.
  • Harvey Ingram has led legal seminars at The University of Leicester.
  • The firm as a whole has broad experience in advising large public bodies on the appropriate procedure for seeking bids from prospective suppliers, criteria for selecting a supplier, drafting and submitting notices, drafting public procurement documentation including the pre-qualification questionnaire and ensuring compliance with Public Procurement Regulations.
