Acquisitions see eco-friendly brands become stablemates
Release date: 17/3/2010
Hip, online eco-friendly fashion brand Ascension and national award-winning children's brand Green Baby, are set to become stablemates thanks to deals tied up by Harvey Ingram.
Ethical Fairtrade clothing line Ascension and its related adili.com website were bought from AIM-listed parent Adili Plc, by innovative entrepreneur Luke Heron. The deal follows the acquisition of Green Baby's online and wholesale divisions, along with its entire intellectual property to help safeguard the label's identity, ethos and eco-friendly credentials.
Luke Heron says: "Both brands are superb offerings and I am delighted to be able to invest, contribute to and help nurture these projects at a time when affordable sustainability is at the forefront of the agenda. The team at Harvey Ingram was a big help in the acquisitions and I'm looking forward to being able to press ahead with the next phase of both brands' expansions."
Harvey Ingram corporate specialist and associate Stephen McElhone, oversaw both deals.
He says: "They are both very innovative, inspirational propositions with plenty of common ground, similar markets and enormous commercial potential. I am looking forward to watching both businesses go from strength-to-strength.
"These acquisitions really typify the marketplace at the moment and there are some superb opportunities available for willing entrepreneurs."
