Comprehensive result for award-winning schools' supplier
Release date: 01/5/2009
Award-winning schools' supplier Active Designs was sold to fellow education sector specialist Twoey Toys, for an undisclosed sum.
The deal was originated, structured and managed by adviser RSM Bentley Jennison, led by East Midlands director of corporate finance Mukesh Bulsara, with legal advice provided by Harvey Ingram corporate specialists Roy Botterill and Lisa Botterill.
Active Designs' educational equipment is National Curriculum-focused, well-established within the teaching profession and used by thousands of youngsters across the UK every week. The company was founded in Northamptonshire in 1995, by educational design graduate Rebecca Alfandary. It offers unique, carefully structured learning equipment for schoolchildren of all ages and clearly proved to be an appropriate fit for Cumbria-based Twoey Toys.
Ms Alfandary says: "I am delighted with the way the sale of Active Designs went. The first-class and timely advice given by RSM Bentley Jennison and Harvey Ingram helped ensure the deal was completed very quickly and smoothly."
Mr Bulsara adds: "Active Designs has grown substantially since inception and has developed a reputation for innovative products differentiated through quality. This deal will enable Twoey Toys to pursue its development strategy, enhancing its presence in the educational resource market. In tough economic conditions it shows that there are still great opportunities to sell businesses, with solid and well structured professional guidance."
Harvey Ingram associate Lisa Botterill says: "It was a pleasure to be able to help with this sale. It represents the beginning of a new era for Active Designs and it demonstrates our continued focus on providing quality legal advice to the owner-managed business market."
