Deal cut with specialist knife-maker

Release date: 4/07/2008

Leicestershire firm Coba International has acquired specialist knife-maker Moving Edge, for an undisclosed sum.

Moving Edge has specialised in pioneering and manufacturing a unique safety knife with an enclosed blade that offers users far more protection compared to one with a traditional 'open blade'. Spotting the enormous potential the firm's products offered, Coba International moved to snap up Moving Edge.

The deal was overseen by a team of Harvey Ingram's specialist corporate, patent and intellectual property lawyers. Negotiations were led by associate Lisa Botterill, working closely with Almina Hodzic, Pina Mazzotti and Akmol Ali.

Lisa said: "We were delighted to be able to work on this deal for Coba International. Moving Edge represents a superb acquisition for the firm and its unique product range offers enormous potential. Negotiations were concluded quickly and succinctly, and reflect the skills and flexibility we offer."

Coba International financial director Barrie Dowsett said: "The acquisition of Moving Edge represents an absolutely first-rate opportunity for us and we have immediate plans to expand the unique safety knife range of products.

"We are delighted with the speed and the way in which Harvey Ingram helped us tie-up this deal. The firm was able to provide fast and timely advice as an when it was needed."
