Eco-friendly footwear firm Terra Plana strides ahead

Release date: 11/11/2008

Hip, eco-friendly footwear label Terra Plana, has taken a giant step towards its ambitious expansion plans with the help of Harvey Ingram, which handled a recent private equity injection in the business.

The award-winning, London-based fashion brand specialises in men's and women's footwear, bags and accessories. Eco-friendly fashion is already hugely popular and boasts a host of world-famous A-list devotees including Natalie Portman, Helena Christensen and Angelina Jolie.

As a result, Terra Plana has now unveiled ambitious expansion plans. The restructuring of the business will see the injection of growth capital for a planned increase in the number of its UK stores from two to 12 prestigious city-centre outlets within the next three years. The company will also be able to consolidate buoyant internet and international sales even further.

Terra Plana finance director Richard Metcalfe said: "Terra Plana has never been one to rest on its laurels and we are constantly looking to push the boundaries of our ethical footwear even further.

"We've already developed a number of very popular eco-friendly, chic and comfortable footwear brands and this expansion will help us meet the rapidly rising demand for Terra Plana designs even further.

"More stores, international franchises and our growing internet business will enable us to consolidate our position as the planet's leading ethical footwear retailer."

The funding and re-organisation was overseen by John Stobart, a partner and corporate specialist at Harvey Ingram.

He said: "We are delighted to be able to help Terra Plana press ahead with its expansion. Negotiations were concluded extremely quickly and with a minimum of fuss and disruption to the firm's day-to-day running.

"Terra Plana is a hugely prestigious and innovative brand and we are looking forward to watching it go from strength-to-strength."
