Information Team wins national award
Release date: 02/7/2010
The Information Team at Harvey Ingram has won a national award for its innovative approach in providing top-notch, fast and timely legal updates to clients and staff alike.
The firm was handed a coveted Best Legal Information Services (Commercial Sector) accreditation at the 2010 British and Irish Association of Law Librarians' (BIALL) annual conference in Brighton. Despite the team being among the smallest in the competition, it still saw off several other sizeable UK law firms, including previous winners CMS Cameron McKenna and Clarke Willmott.
Biall President Daniella King, paid tribute to Harvey Ingram.
She says: "The team has managed to create a natural, organic Knowledge Management system, which will lay the foundations for the future of the law firm. This has been an enormous effort over a 12-month period. In addition, the team consistently provides valuable and extensive support throughout the entire firm for any research, legal or information needs and, according to one nominator, never fails to help with a positive and cheery attitude."
Harvey Ingram library and information manager Jon Beaumont, was on hand to receive the award.
He says: "We were delighted, flattered and a little surprised to win this award, particularly compared to the competition. Fortunately the ethos behind Knowledge Management and the sharing of technical information is well embedded across all teams at Harvey Ingram."
