Transfer paves the way for 1500 extra NHS dental patients
Release date: 03/4/2009
The transfer and proposed expansion of Leicestershire practice Ditchfield Dental will help add 1,500 extra patients to the clinic's NHS list.
It follows the transfer of the practice by former owner and principal dentist Wayne Ditchfield, to two established dentists already operating in Leicestershire.
The deal will see Mr Ditchfield stay on at the practice in Fairfax Road, Market Harborough, where he is joined by new associate dentist Cristina Lima. As a result, the clinic will continue to offer NHS dentistry to thousands of patients in the area, safeguard the jobs of all practice staff, press ahead with plans to expand capacity and allow the practice to offer NHS dental services to as many as 1,500 additional South Leicestershire patients.
The transfer of the practice was overseen by specialist Harvey Ingram corporate lawyer and associate Stephen McElhone.
He says: "We were delighted to be able to help Mr Ditchfield with this key deal. The transfer of dental and medical practices is traditionally a very complex area, but it's an area we specialise in and we were delighted to help tie-up this latest transaction.
"This is a timely deal for all parties given Market Harborough's continued growth and the rising demand for NHS services across South Leicestershire."
